But I'm fairly positive that today takes the cake:
Large Study Links Red, Processed Meat to Certain Cancers
(sorry it has to be at Fox "News")
This issue isn't so much a biblical issue for me as much as it is a health issue. After all it seems like you hear more and more health benefits for becoming a vegetarian all the time.
It is times like these that I cause myself to sit for a moment and question my tradition, even if it is a tradition of eating meat. Why did I start eating meat in the first place? Why do I still eat meat today? Does it give me (or my tastebuds) joy when I eat it? To that last question, I'd say most of the time, not really. Yes, those disgustingly processed anti-nutritious McChicken sandwiches from the Arch satisfy the hunger of those who procrastinate on their homework, taking them into the early hours of the morning. But I can do better.
I think I might try to do a trial run with this sometime. (For those of you who talk the talk, I'd be a lacto-ovovegetarian. I love my milk!)
All this talk about getting to live longer has gotten me thinking that I'll end up like an "insurance policy holder" from the movie The Island. (Good movie...I just saw it for the first time this past week. Check it out.)

this is why you don't eat processed meat, try eating meat from your local farmers. :)
